The Argentina Beach Handball Circuit 2022 starts the second week of January, and there are already six venues confirmed around the country.
Arena 1000 matches will be held in Entre Ríos, Río Negro, Capital Federal, Neuquén, Chubut, and Mendoza, while the Argentina Cup will take place on the beaches of Puerto Madryn, Chubut for the second year in a row.
The men’s and women’s teams from Neuquén, IFES de Neuquén and IFES Fly Summer, will both defend the titles they won in Viedma in 2020 and Puerto Madryn in 2021. Each has a number of players from the Argentinian national team, and they have dominated the circuit since it began in 2020. Fans will be watching closely to see if they can continue this winning streak.
In recent years, Argentina has seen incredible success on the international beach handball scene. The country hosted the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, where it took home gold and bronze in the girls’ and boys’ tournaments. It also won two bronze medals at the 2017 Mauritius Youth World Games, silver at the 2017 Wroclaw Women’s World Games, and a bronze at the 2019 South and Central American Beach Handball Championship.
The venues for the 2022 circuit will be:
- January 8 and 9: Arena 1000 of Paraná, Entre Ríos
- January 15 and 16: Arena 1000 de Viedma, Río Negro
- January 15 and 16: Arena 1000 in Buenos Aires, CABA
- January 28, 29, and 30: Arena 1000 in Neuquén
- February 4 and 5: Arena 1000 de Rada Tilly, Chubut
- February 4 and 5: Arena 1000 de Tunuyán, Mendoza
- Argentina Cup: February 24 to March 1, Puerto Madryn, Chubut
