The year sets off to a buzzing start as Arena 1000 announces the 2022 handball tour in various cities in Spain. Recalling the event in 2021, Cats AM Team Almeria won the women’s category in a seat-edging nervous tournament organized in the same town.
In 2022, the Arena handball tour will come to four main cities; Almeria, Nazare, Orihuela, and Torrox. As Juanjo Segura, the sports councilor, stated, ” The event placed Almeria in the epicenter of sports and tourism. It complements and is positive for the city and province as projected at national and European level.”
El Palmeral beach will host the main event from 15-17th July. The event will not be short of nail-biting moments, tears, endurance, and beauty because that’s what beach handball brings. The locals with tourists will enjoy more than 120 teams battling it out among the different branches to claim the much-coveted trophy and award.
Hola Orihuela
The hometown of the enigma, Miguel Hernandez, is set to host the other phase of Arena 1000 handball tournaments from 22nd to 24th July. It is a first-of-its-kind event in Orihuela, yet they have surpassed preparation expectations. Orihuela is going above and beyond with preparations including offering packages for train commute at AVE stands across the municipality.
The sports mayor, Emilio Bascunana, has ensured everything is in place for the handball event. All roads lead to Orihuela starting now. The International Tourism Fair in Madrid precedes the handball tournament. It is best to book your spot early for the ultimate handball Spanish culture event.
Next Stop: Torrox
The next stop of the booming sport is Torrox. Torrox, which hosts the Spanish cup of the Arena Handball for the sixth consecutive year, is at par with Orihuela in preparedness. Arguably the best climate city in Europe, Torrox expects over 3,000 spectators for the tournament. It will be worth watching as the town turns into a hub for sand sports.
Nazare Has a Dream
From 8th to 10th July, Arena Handball tournament camps in Nazare for a fun-filled beach handball tournament. Dubbed “Enjoy the Experience,” the event is set to thrill many as the best teams will compete aggressively to win. Nazare will cement its place as a growing hub for the fast-growing sport of beach handball.
