José Diego Castillo, president of the C.D. Recortes de Mojama, confirmed the news after having a meeting with the Councilor for Sports and the Mayor of the City of Barbate.
The event will be held on 24, 25 and 26 June, making it a three-day event instead of a two-day event like in past years.
Fans will get to see seven courts, which could be expanded if there is sufficient demand and enough teams participate.
The traditional Mojama Recortes Tournament will once again be part of the regional competition, due in part to Barbate’s popularity as a world-class venue during the summer months. Look for many more participants than last year.
The tournament will happen at Playa del Carmen, Barbate (Cadiz) in Spain.
The beach life is lush in Barbate. See the famous pine cliffs at Las Breñas and Barbate Marshes Natural Park or visit the village of Los Atunes, where Miguel de Cervantes once worked.
Miles of sandy beaches offer a great place to spend a week or a weekend, which is why Barbate is so popular for the beach handball tournament.
In addition to natural beauty, plenty of hotels, spas, and food await.
El Campero offers traditional tuna dishes with a thousand years of heritage behind them. Tuan is a local delicacy, caught right off the coast, in the same waters where the Battle of Trafalgar took place in 1805. Plenty of other restaurants await your arrival.
The Hotel Playa Del Carmen is a short walk to the beach and where the tournament will take place. Other hotels and day spas offer accommodations, night life, and a relaxing vacation in Barbate.
We can’t wait to see you at the end of June for one of the best regional beach handball tournaments in Europe!
