Fifteen teams participated in the Trelew Municipality’s Beach Handball tournament. The internal competition is part of the Argentina circuit to spread beach handball among the Argentinian provinces.
Sports Department of Trelew Municipality organized a great tournament that attracted many sponsors. It is one of the reference tournaments for incorporating Beach Handball in Paris 2024. Beach handball aims to break off as a distinct discipline with its fan base and tournaments.
The tournament organized in the Laguna Cacique Chiquichano Nature Reserve culminated with Grilli clinching the men’s top spot, Cumehue in the women’s category, and Independiente clinching the much-coveted first place among the minors. The tournament had a trove of talent who displayed to the world why beach handball should be in the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.
The main organizers’, the Sports Department of Trelew, with their partners, the Nature Reserve directors, appreciated the turnout and the thrill it brought. But the sporting event wasn’t the only thing we noted in the culture-rich province.
Tourists from Madryn and other provinces flocked to the region to marvel at the attractions. Trelew hosts the Chubut River Valley, supporting bird watching and fantastic flora. Chubut River Valley provides a break from the frenzy of wins and losses in the beach handball tournament. Close by is the Museo Pueblo de Luis which reminds you of the Welsh colonization. The museum hosts old artifacts and a train that you must take a picture with while exploring outside.
The welcoming nature of the residents is also worthy of mention. However, try to learn some Spanish to better interact with the locals who offer help any time you want. The residents will show you the best hotels, educate you on the province’s culture and take you to the fantastic scenes.
We are sure similar events will build on the success of the Cacique Chiquichano Lagoon Beach Handball tournament. It may be an excellent time to book a hotel or a permanent residence in the Trelew area for the upcoming beach handball tournaments.
